The Embassy of Ireland in France in partnership with MEDEF International, Enterprise
Ireland and NetworkIrlande organised a panel discussion on the Franco-Irish partnership in energy and sustainability on Friday, 25 November, to coincide with the signing of the Celtic Interconnector contracts in the presence of Eamon Ryan, Minister for Transport and the Minister for the Environment, Climate, Communications, and Agnès-Pannier Runacher, French Minister for Energy Transition.
Following opening remarks by An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, the panel, moderated by Enterprise Ireland CEO, Leo Clancy, discussed the challenges and opportunities facing French and Irish businesses in adapting their strategies to shift to renewable energies and to contribute to achieving EU and global climate targets.
NetworkIrlande pioneer members Mark Foley of Eirgrid, Terry McGivern of Kingspan Logstor and Peter Morehead of Pernod Ricard participated on the panel alongside Minister Eamonn Ryan, Xavier Piechaczyk, CEO of Rté, Carmen Munoz, Downstream Director, EDF and Vice-President of the MEDEF Sustainable Cities Task Force and Gérard Wolf, President of the MEDEF Sustainable Cities Task Force and Vice-President of the MEDEF Africa Committee.
A lively Q&A session followed and the morning was rounded off with a networking breakfast.
