Semaine de l’Irlande 2025: A Celebration of Irish Culture in France
As part of the annual Semaine de l’Irlande, Tourism Ireland is launching a diverse program of events across France to celebrate Irish culture in the lead-up to Saint Patrick’s Day. This initiative brings together key organizations, including Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Bord Bia, and Tourism Ireland, to highlight Ireland’s cultural heritage and strengthen Franco-Irish ties.
Paris will be at the heart of the celebrations, with numerous events taking place throughout the city. Irish cinema will be showcased at Les 3 Luxembourg and L’Arlequin, featuring films such as Sing Street, The Banshees of Inisherin, and Wolfwalkers. Literary enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore Oscar Wilde’s legacy through a dedicated walking tour, while the Centre Culturel Irlandais will host exhibitions and live performances.
Music and dance will also play a central role in the celebrations, with concerts by Belfast Trad Trail scheduled at Pub St Germain, Little Temple Bar, and Corcoran’s. Traditional Irish dancing will be featured at the Casino de Paris, and several venues across the city will offer Irish-themed menus and whiskey tastings, including La Maison du Whisky Odéon and The Frog & Princess.
A major highlight of the week will be the lighting of the Sacré-Cœur in green on March 17, a symbolic gesture reinforcing the strong cultural ties between Ireland and France.
Beyond Paris, Semaine de l’Irlande will extend to major cities across France, including Bordeaux, Lyon, Toulouse, and Nice. Events will range from Irish dance performances to rugby exhibitions and themed pub nights. In Dijon, an exhibition on 120 years of France-Ireland rugby will offer a historical perspective on this sporting connection.
Gastronomy will also be in the spotlight, with Irish-inspired menus available in select restaurants, such as Brasserie du Théâtre in Saint-Germain-en-Laye and The Frog & Rosbif in Bordeaux and Toulouse.
As a platform dedicated to strengthening business and cultural ties between France and Ireland, NetworkIrlande is proud to help promote this initiative. By highlighting the events of Semaine de l’Irlande, NetworkIrlande supports the efforts of Tourism Ireland and its partners in fostering deeper connections between the two countries.
